We are here to advance science, improve the healthcare experience for women, shift the statistics for women’s health outcomes and build a different medical future for our families and children. Because --- it’s time we did this.
We are a team passionate about making the healthcare journey better– for everyone. We are geneticists and data scientists, technologists, system architects, security and privacy nerds, parents, and digital natives who have each struggled to manage challenging health conditions that we didn’t feel fully supported through. The healthcare experience can and should be better.
how we show up.
Be genuine, authentic, try hard things and fail - or not. We sometimes shout unpopular opinions - boldly and compassionately. We commit and act - even when it scares us and we hold a line when needed.
Everyone has a right to own their own journey and their health. We encourage you to also be a driver and not a passenger. We thrive on an internal culture of ownership and clarity. Without ownership, you aren't empowered to improve.
Move at the speed of trust
Trust matters. We are all held together by trust. Speed without trust break things, trust without momentum stagnates. We believe this perpetual circle of speed and trust allows us to move mountains.
Enjoy the purpose of the journey
We believe there are 3 levels of fun. We are here for every one of them (yes - even level 3 sometimes *cough - childbirth*). We recognize that every meaningful journey requires balance and rhythym and a destination.
Radical transparency is a superpower
Transparency is core to trust, to speed, to collaboration, to understanding. We are radically transparent with you and with each other - because we believe this is better.
A culture of care isn't an afterthought
We care deeply for both our customers and our teammates, and build respect into the foundation of our interactions with everyone. We are here for the human experience - and one of the greatest joys in that, is connecting with other people.
Why the world needs Trellis Health
Estelle Giraud, cofounder and CEO
I'm a founder passionate about human health and I'm also a new mother. My experience was pretty intense but not uncommon; including IVF, an emergency C-section, prenatal hypertension, postpartum preeclampsia and medication incompatibilities. I had to monitor my blood pressure multiple times a day, track symptoms, maintain a complex medication schedule, stay on top of a calendar full of appointments and reminders, and had a multitude of genetic and blood tests. There were so many apps and tools out there that would tell me the size of my baby, what carrier was best, or what milestones they were reaching in utero, but there was nothing to really help me manage my own health. And while my care team was fantastic - my health information was and is spread in a spaghetti mess across two countries and 4 states, and I'm terrible at passwords. It created inevitable gaps in my care. The lack of continuity left me feeling anxious and frustrated. I felt I had to stay on top of my own care and information or it would slip through the cracks... my baby and I would slip through the cracks. Unfortunately we know this happens too often, with tragic maternal health outcomes when it does.
I spoke with dozens of women, and discovered that my experiences were not unique; quite the opposite. Frustration, concerns around maternal health risks, missed information leading to avoidable mistakes, it was all a common burden of responsibility for these women. The responsibility we take for "holding it all", robs us of the ease and joy of this life phase, whether you have a high risk pregnancy or not. I believe we can fill some of these gaps and ease the "pregnancy mental load" with a secure health data system and some very simple digital tools that allow your health data to work for you in a meaningful way. This is one of the most important health journeys of your life, building a human. We have to shift the statistics of women's health and maternal health outcomes globally. Since the dawn of humanity, information is power. Your health information can empower you in this journey but it's not made easy within the system today.
I’ve worked at the front line of emerging technologies in healthcare and genetics my whole career; and was always passionate about improving the human health and health data systems.
Motherhood just gave me a new perspective.
Our goal is to empower the next generation of parents to take ownership of their family's health. We want to help new parents feel confident and capable when taking on the job of managing the health of their entire family, and build a platform that will ease the minds of new parents everywhere.
Trellis Health exists to organize the world's health information - one family at a time, so we can all access and build generational health.
